Overview
This project focuses on raising awareness about a local or global, social, environmental, political, or health-related issue. Using icons helps users quickly and easily identify the message.
Phase 1-Research
I began the process by researching my topic on global warming. I first wanted to know the impact it had on the world and the consequences for the earth. I mainly focused on the effects it had on polar bears and the rise of sea levels.
Phase 2- Tagline
To help ensure that my message is heard, I came up with some keywords to help me brainstorm my tagline. I tried to make my taglines rhyme so it flows better and the viewer could understand and remember.
The tagline I decided to chose was "Warming is a Warning".
Sketches
I first did some sketches related to fire, flooding, and melting. I did many compositions of the earth and how global warming affects the world. I wanted to make it known that the temperature is rising and that it's a warning. Out of the 16 sketches, I chose three that I wanted to focus on. I chose #2, #15, and #16.
Phase 3-Design
After choosing three designs to focus on. I finalized the icons more. For the first one, I drew the earth melting with the fire in the background to show the rising temperature. The second design is the earth in a lifesaver because since the earth is warming, the sea level is rising, and it's showing that the earth is drowning. And the third design is factories emitting greenhouse gases which warm up the earth and the smoke turns into a polar bear since their ice is melting. For my finalized sketch I decided to chose #3.
